extreme fatigue...

For the last couple of months, I have been constantly tired - i come home everyday from school and fall asleep instantly, i also fall asleep during lessons and just generally all the time. I have no energy for anything, i get dizzy when i stand, i feel like i'm fainting half the time; i literally feel like i'm wearing away. I recently took a blood test for anemia and it was negative. What else could it be?

Please help!

Sorry for a misspelling. It should be "ashwagandha."

LowCortisol expressed the thought I was having. If you do find you have low cortisol try taking ashwagandah (Indian genseng) which regulates cortisol naturally. I have a cortisol problem and use it. No side effects.

Hi there,

Get your doctor to take blood and check your:

1. Cortisol level. This should be done at  8am and 5 or 6 pm the same day. There is no need to fast for this test.

A low cortisol can explain a feeling of complete exhaustion as though you want to go to bed without having the strength to brush your teeth is symptom of cortisol deficiency.
The solution is a few months of tablets (which I am on) and you'll feel brilliant.

2. Vitamin D (25 hydroxy test) and

3. Vitamin B12.

One more thing: make sure you drink 8 glasses of water a day not including tea and soft drinks.

i eat extremely healthy and exercise often so it's seems highly unlikely that it would be caused from a low vitamin count. But i have started eating more foods with vitamin and iron nonetheless yet the problems have no stopped.

I'm applying for university and all that, so there is stress but compared to earlier parts of my life, like last year, it's nothing! I used to have a lot of stress and had a slight eating disorder and things like that but since 10 months ago everything has changed, and I'm genuinely feeling much better so it also seems unlikely to be stress related.

No, I've had regular periods and checks so there's no chance at all. Thank you anyway.

Yes very tired when i wake up and find it extremely hard to get out of bed. Half the time, I literally fall over from exhaustion as if I've fainted. And during the day I am pretty much always tired, I got short bursts of energy during mid-morning but that fades very quickly too. I drink tea occasionally, but never coffee. And i feel unmotivated in all parts - that is the biggest problem in all this. Why, what do you think it could be?

Thank you all for your feedback!

Are you tired when you wake up in the morning? Do you have problems getting out of bed? When during the day do you get tired? Do you drink tea or coffee? Do you feel unmotivated in many parts of your life?

Any possible way you could be pregnant?  In the first trimester most women feel very tired all of the time.  I wanted to do nothing but sleep.  Other than that I don't know what it could be but I would definately see your doctor about this.

During your day, are you stressing about schoolwork or teachers? Being stressed through the day can literally drain a person's energy. I am like the same thing. After school I am very tired because of stress. Anxiety also causes episodes of Extreme Fatigue. Being overwhelmed also creates tiredness in all humans. Good Luck in your treatment and I hoped I helped you.

Are you taking nutritional supplements?....Vitamin B-Complex will help energy levels but I think you need to explore more with the doctors.  Just remember how important nutritional supplements are....they do have some food-based vitamins...one is called 'Alive', one is called 'More than a Multiple'....These are not synthetic vitamins that are on the market..
Also exercising at least 15 minutes a day helps blood flow!
