No hun it should in no way affect the baby. It could get larger as your belly grows though. Just watch for signs of pain/discomfort/burning/significant increase in size of/with the hernia area , and notify your doc if they become present. Hope this helps.
It could be a hernia....I've heard that umbilical hernias are quite common with pregnancy....if it is one then you will most likely need some kind of surgery after the baby is born to correct it...they do most of them laprascopic now so it shouldn't be too bad, my husband just had surgery for an inguinal hernia two weeks ago and he is back to work and everything already....wish you luck, congrats on the pregnancy.
do you know if anything will be wrong with my baby from this?
It is probably an Umbilical Hernia. You probably have had the weakening in that area since birth and the added pressure from being pregnant has caused it to bulge outward/herniate- is where the intestines push out through a small tear in the lining. Nothing will be done during pregnancy or possibly if ever as long as you don't start having problems, such as pain or strangulated intestines. with it. It is possible it will go down or be less noticeable after you deliver, yet will always be there.
If it gets worse surgery will be the treatment. I scheduled my hernia surgery just this morning for the end of NOV. YIPPY LOL Hope This Helps.
