Pain in lower, lower left side of abdomen.

So, for about a month I've been feeling this weird ache in my lower, lower left side. It's pretty near my hips and I can feel it where my abdomen and leg meets. It first hurt only sometimes, and whenever I would walk too much, now it's pretty constant (although it's summer and I have been exercising more.) I have no other symptoms other than this pain. I don't really feel it when I lay down on my back, and the pain is minimal when I'm sitting, but I can still slightly feel it. My period was a few days late this week and I'm only bleeding slightly, which isn't totally normal for me. Any ideas on what this could be? My period and this might not even be related, just a thought. I would love some advice, thank you.
