Question About Antibiotic and Alcohol
Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.Thanks In Advance
It's probably best if you don't mix alcohol with any medicine, regardless of what kind.
Under absolutely positively no circumstances should you be drinking alcohol and taking Clindamycin. Alcohol is a solvent and besides other effects breaks the molecular bonds on the antibiotic, destroying it's usefullness. Drinking is a good way to develop an antibiotic resistant infection.
