Just wondering...

I'm 13 years old, about 5 foot 5, and I weigh 107 pounds. That's a normal weight, right? My friends all tell me I'm really skinny, sometimes too skinny and I don't eat enough. (I eat enough! I don't starve myself or skip meals) One time my friend told me I eat a lot...ohh I'm confused. I'm pretty sure I'm a healthy weight, I mean I'm on swim team for 2 hours just about every week day and I eat just less than 2,000 calories a day...

(P.S. I'm not that type of person who is practically incapable of gaining weight, no matter how much they eat.)

I took a look at your profile picture, where it is a larger picture and you don't look too thin at all- you look the right weight to me.  As you get older, the pounds will come on because your metabolism naturally slows when you reach a certain age.  It's good you are getting exercise and don't skip meals- you feel you are eating enough and you don't look underweight  to me.  Don't pay attention to your friends or take it as a compliment when they say they think you're skinny.

There are too many people out there who are overweight and wish they weren't but because of physical or emotional problems or lack of self control or poor eating habits, find themselves at an unhealthy weight.

If you were feeling sickly at your weight, then would be the time to ask the doctor if you were not at the right weight for your age, bone structure and height.

For your height, you are underweight according to most standard height and weight charts, which I don't believe in.  In my opinion, you look great and HEALTHY.

I think people, especially women get all caught up in how much we weigh and how we look to others way too often.  I absolutely HATE that aspect of being a woman.  If YOU feel good and feel YOU look great that is all that matters.

Genetics plays a BIG part in weight; how we gain or how we can't gain.  You just happen to be one of those people who doesn't gain weight.

At this point in time, I wish people would be more concerned with someone being healthy than the numbers from a scale.

I weighed 99 pounds when I was 16 and may have been a bit shorter than you at that time (a bit taller than you at full height later).  I can't tell from your picture, but if you are small boned, don't worry about your weight at all!
