i used to have lots of back pain and even slipped a disc many years ago needing physiotherapy. i have found that sitting up in bed in the morning, half an hour before i get up always with a cuppa has helped enormously. anytime i have jumped out of bed strait away and lifted anything (usually washing basket) i suffer for ages.try yoga. meanwhile take paracetamol and ibuprofen regularly.

It sounds like it might be your SI joint.  I had similar problems with low back pain and hip pain and went to see my physcian and that is what he told me it was.  There is really nothing that can be done about it and it can take a long time to heal/go away.  I have found wearing supportive shoes and seeing my chiropractor for regular adjustments to help.
