I think it was only the cow that used the bones previously.

Sounds like this is not the full story.

What was the medication?  Was it a controlled substance?

When I was a child (in the days when doctors still made house calls), we had a most eccentric doctor. The first thing he would do when he arrived was go into the kitchen, open all the cupboards, and throw out anything he felt was unhealthy. Actually he was a very fine doctor, one who paid attention to nutrition. He taught my mother how to make soup. First you get a great big cow bone. You simmer this in water for eight hours. Then you make your soup in the stock. We still make soup that way.

This is a little off the subject, but I though you might enjoy it.

Yes, they can in some cases, especially if they feel you are abusing it for some reason.

Of course a physician both the right and the legal obligation do do so if he determined ingestion of the medication was inappropriate.

In such a case a doctor may not provide a cash refund, but may compensate you by providing you with additional medication (usually from samples) in the future for free.

This is a "missing piece" story.

I suggest you ask him for a reason, and bring up the matter of being reimbursed.
