Recently i was diagnosed with sinus tachycardia and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and fundoscopy minor grade 1 can anyone tell me what this means in real terms.
With thanks Carl
thank you this has been very helpful you have hit the nail on the head so to speak !
What you're describing sounds a lot like the vasovagal response I get when I get anasthetic numbing drops in my eyes. There are many different triggers for a vasovagal response.
This is from the wikipedia page:
Among people with vasovagal episodes, the episodes are typically recurrent, usually happening when the person is exposed to a specific trigger. Prior to losing consciousness, the individual frequently experiences a prodrome of symptoms such as lightheadedness, nausea, the feeling of being extremely hot (accompanied by sweating), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), uncomfortable feeling in the heart, fuzzy thoughts, a slight inability to speak/form words (sometimes combined with mild stuttering), weakness and visual disturbances such as lights seeming too bright, fuzzy or tunnel vision, and sometimes a feeling of nervousness can occur as well. These last for at least a few seconds before consciousness is lost (if it is lost), which typically happens when the person is sitting up or standing. When sufferers pass out, they fall down (unless this is impeded); and when in this position, effective blood flow to the brain is immediately restored, allowing the person to regain consciousness. Short of fainting a person may experience an almost indescribable weak and tired feeling resulting from a lack of oxygen to the brain due to a sudden drop in blood pressure. Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary[3] describes this as the "feeling of impending death" caused by expansion of the aorta, drawing blood from the head and upper body.
The autonomic nervous system's physiologic state (see below) leading to loss of consciousness may persist for several minutes, so:
If sufferers try to sit or stand when they wake up, they may pass out again
The person may be nauseated, pale, and sweaty for several minutes

If this fits what you're feeling, the next step would be to keep a log of episodes and what you were doing just before and how long it took you to recover. Even if it looks really redundant and you're just recording the same thing over and over, doctors seem to take it more seriously when you come in with a list of incidents and dates and descriptions.
This is the wikipedia description of premature atrial contractions, a form of heart arrythmia. Even if this is what you have, such a strong vasovagal response and feeling unwell for the next two hours is not normal.
Premature atrial contractions (PACs), also known as atrial premature complexes (APC) or atrial premature beats (APB), are a common cardiac arrhythmia characterized by premature heartbeats originating in the atria. While the sinoatrial node typically regulates the heartbeat during normal sinus rhythm, PACs occur when another region of the atria depolarizes before the sinoatrial node and thus triggers a premature heartbeat. The exact cause of PACs is unclear; while several predisposing conditions exist, PACs commonly occur in healthy young and elderly people without heart disease, and by themselves are not considered an abnormal finding.[1][2] PACs are often completely asymptomatic and may be noted only with Holter monitoring, but occasionally they cause a sensation of palpitations. In most cases, no treatment other than reassurance is needed for PACs, although medications such as beta blockers can reduce the frequency of symptomatic PACs.
I hope this info is helpful, even if it doesn't offer a clear cure.
I know to much exercise can cause nausea/palpitations (its your bodies way of showing you have over exerted ... ) or that you could really be unfit.
However walking and relaxing this should not be happening.... Go get some blood tests done to check if all is okay just in case
Hi I did get my heart checked out and was told it was nothing to worry about even though they decided to put me on bisoprolol 5mg and lisinopril 20 mg and verapamil 120mg modified release. Could you please tell me what very rare atrial prem beats mean?, Also had an angiogram but was told that was fine. But still i get these symptoms and have been for around two and a half years . i remember one of the first occasions i was walking round a city with my partner having a laugh then all of a sudden i started feeling unwell, folled by feeling very hot , flushing of the face, nausea then breathless with palpitations and then diarrhea, i felt really unwell for at least two hours so my partner took me to the nearest hospital and my blood pressure was 179 over 105 with pulse 160 they just told me to see my doc, Thats when it started to happen .
You need to see a doctor to get your heart checked out.
