Hello, I am a 46 yof and recently started having pain and limited mobility problems in both knees. My knees have been popping for about a year or more now however the pain and limitation is becoming almost unbearable. Up until 1 year ago , I could go the the mall and walk most of the day with no problems. Now 30 minutes and my knees just feel like they re going to snap in to. I quit smoking about 9 months ago and since then have had nothing but problems. To begin with I have gained thirty pounds but had no change in my diet. If anything I eat less becuase of an acid reflux problem. I'm sure the extra weight hasnt helped my knees but it seems that my problem actually began somewhat before the weight gain. I also have a desk job that keeps me fairly chair planted for 8 -9 hours a day.I try to stay on me feet as much as possible after work but it's getting more difficult to walk. Any idea what the culprit may be and is this something that surgery can correct?
