With certain exceptions I would question the competence of any physician who kept a patient on prednisone for twenty-five years, with a few exceptions. A transplant patient, for example.
It is an inappropriate protocol.
It is common for older (over 65) physicians to over prescribe prednisone. Years ago it was prescribed routinely and without regard for long-term side effects.
You need to see an endochronologist for advice.
Get a complete copy of your medical records and find another primary care physician.
Why were you taking prednisone and what is the rationale for taking you off it? If you can get off it, that is wonderful. Steroids nearly did me in.
First, why were you taking the prednisone?
an endocrinologist would be the most appropriate one...
