what happens

what happens to a person that was taking 20 to 30 10mg percocet and 10 10mg methadone every day for 7 years and just stop

well that is very dangerous my husband was addicted to percocet for two years and was ready to stop and before he did he had to call a doctor and they told him it would take about a month before withdraws would stop. And he got very sick body aches and they told him he could have seizures. You need to wean yourself off or go to a out paitent rehab. Do it the right way.

This individual will almost certainly experience opioid withdrawal. While "unpleasant" this will not be life-threatening.

Early symptoms of withdrawal include:

    Agitation
    Anxiety
    Muscle aches
    Increased tearing
    Insomnia
    Runny nose
    Sweating
    Yawning

Late symptoms of withdrawal include:

    Abdominal cramping
    Diarrhea
    Dilated pupils
    Goose bumps
    Nausea
    Vomiting
