my dad died im afraid to look at him

My dad died at 10 am this day,,,,he had a heart atttack they think..im so apprhensive to look at him in a coffin, I dont know how I will be able to do it.,,he was ill for awhile but nothing heart related,,,he had alztimers,,,Im greatful he is with God now and not gonna be put in some nursing home in a few years or less...

I just feel like I dont know what to do

It was odd, he actually looked like himself from nose up, mouths must be difficult to do cause it did not look like his mouth, he looked dignified, and oddly about 20 years younger, I think they filled in all the hallows that had been inhis cheeks, people never look the same, someone else said this in my journal but its true the bodys just the shell the soul leaves behind.

If it is an open coffin funeral (do you know that it is?) first off, you are not obliged to walk up and look at him.  Second, a friend whose mother passed said the undertaker did a nice thing, he gave her mother just a little grin, so when she viewed her mom she feel like her mom was happy, and it cheered her up!  You just never know how it will feel.  But remember, you don't have to look if you don't want to.  He is in a better place now and wouldn't want you to be distressed.

awww cherie I am so so sorry, hurts doesnt it, of course you dont know what to do, best to let it all wash over you, oh brother ....maybe if you do look at him it will be a healing experience ...hope you can get through the next few days and am sure you will,  , thinking about you ...hugs Marg
