I just can't let it go, in need of some HELP again!

I've been on this forum before, for non-exposure scenarios and have learnt to accept it. However, there's this one incident that I feel I've been greatly exposed to HIV and thus, in deep anxiety again. I was serving in the military as a medical corp and one day, my friends were all fooling around and there's this one guy who used a lancet to ***** my arms, and it bled. The lancet that we have in our camp is Accu-Chek Safe-T-Pro Plus Lancet, a single usage one whereby the needle retracts. And furthermore, once we use a lancet on a patient, we immediately dispose it. So chances are, my friend used a fresh one on my arm. However, I can't stop think that my friend might have somehow found a contaminated lancet and used it to ***** on me. And if indeed it was contaminated with some HIV+ blood. Has anyone have had an HIV infection by an infected lancet? Am I at serious risk/exposure? Do I need testing? I really need some opinion on this. Oh and by the way, after our service in the military, about 4 to 8 WEEKS AFTER THE INCIDENT, i got tested for HIV and it was negative. Do i still need to worry?

I agree with Apollo: seek professional mental help. That is exactly what I told you in your last thread. At this point you should take any additional concerns to a psychologist or psychiatrist. I am closing this thread and you may not start any additional threads in this forum. Answering your questions is just going to fuel your anxiety and defer you from getting the help that you really need. There is only so much a forum can do, sorry.

that means even if the lancet was an used one, i'm still safe? i'm starting to accept the fact that i indeed don't have a risk for HIV,  however i seem to be falling sick quite often, i'm having a slight fever and sore throat right now, it's getting better though. i last fell sick on march, that too when i was freaking out HIV. these symptoms make me think that i might have HIV inside me. do these frequent flu/cold ( once every 2 months) reflect the possibility of any HIV infection? i'm too scared to do an HIV test, afraid of a possible false positive and the anxiety to follow.

Let’s use some critical thinking here.

1. A lancet is a solid piece of sterilized metal. Meaning no place for blood to stay fresh.
2. If it was New you are fine, if it was used your friend went through a lot of trouble to get to the needle, and you are still fine.

This is starting to sound like extreme anxiety... Further more

3. Blood coagulates in like less than 30 second. Making any transmission of living cells impossible.
4. HIV cannot reproduce without the help of specific living Lymphocytes. Specially in dry blood.
5. If it had been used and you were in the military at the time, and it was a military person that it was used on, more than likely that person was HIV NEGATIVE

You are fine. Please think logically and not emotionally. I know it is hard to believe but HIV is just not that infectious. really. calm, down breath and get a Negative test to reassure yourself.

Take care and be safe...

i'm not in the military anymore, this incident took place when i was serving in the military for 2 years ( it's compulsory here, National Service ). i've finished my service in 2010 December and that's when i got tested for HIV. this incident took place about 4-8 weeks before the testing, so i'm really worried that i might have possibly been infected and not knowing about it. i'm a civilian now, i'm only 21. i just want to know whether i've had any risk for HIV from the above scenario? thanks
