Worried and scared

Im so worried and scared over my exposure which was a broken condom with my male partner during vaginal sex. I'm female. I just want to know any statistics regarding male-female transmission. Is a HIV 1 RNA pcr at 10 days post exposure be conclusive? My area doesn't test for HIV 2 unless u had come into contact with people from west Africa. I know people who don't test at all, move from relationship to relationship with inconsistent condom use but still don't contract anything. I'm like anxious and also reluctant to test. Help me. I'm all alone. I didnt expect the condom to break.

Thanks for replying Apollo it means so much. I will wait for the 2 week mark and then get tested as its 50% accurate. Just for a peace of mind perhaps.

PCR tests are not designed to diagnose HIV, only HIV antibody test are. HIV2 is not even worth thinking about, but most modern tests will have HIV 2 included in its testing.

The thing with not testing, it will sit heavy on your mind as its quiet clear your anxious enough to post about your concern and this wont go away for you until you get your outcome.

I really think your worrying over this to much. Just start living your life as normal and just take the tests at the correct times.

Just saw you blog thing. Even if you got HIV from this, most live as long as people without HIV, if not longer, but as your thinking this way, it really shows you need to test for your own peace of mind.
