The fact is that Home Access is completely reliable, just like any other ELISA test out there, because like any other diagnostic test it required a rigorous approval process by the FDA before being put on the market. Trust me, they have extensively documented that the contingencies/scenarios that you cite are not an issue. But go ahead and take one more test if you think you will believe the result this time. I suggest that you just have a standard blood test at your county health department. It will definitely be negative. Regarding your new boyfriend, I'm not sure what to tell you. You should be using condoms for unprotected vaginal or anal sex anyway unless you have seen his test result.
Hi! Thanks for the input....I was actually getting on here to give everyone an update! The stress and anxiety of worrying over this finally got to me today----i literally had to leave work early and went to a clinic to get the oraswab test. as you (and everyone else) called it-negative! What an amazing feeling, i will never put myself in this situation-no one should! the stress and anxiety are NOT worth it.
To everyone else reading this---seriously, take the advice provided by these moderators, doctors, experts to heart.....its all sound advice and they have a TON of knowledge-i believe its all from the heart. They are unbiased and can give rational opinions from an outsiders view. For those doubting results as I did, just know that testing is taken VERY seriously no matter which way you do it. At 3 months, a negative is a negative. No one is going to mislead you on that. This website helped get me through these last 6 months....take it to heart and remember everything always works out for the best! Also, this has been said a MILLION times but symptoms mean NOTHING. I had every one in the book---for months. turns out i had mono mixed with ibs (from stress) mixed with anxiety. It is insane what your body can put you though when you think you have something as serious as HIV.
Thanks to everyone for the support! Stay safe!
