Need help!!

Hi all, I had an exposure of needle sharing with someone 26 days ago.
i wanted to ask some questions to you all people. please help me.

1. Can ars symptopms start from 25th days (i saw Dr HHH's comment where he said that it can not start
beyond three weeks and always start 10-20 days)

2. Yesterday, after having me lunch, i started feeling acidic and nausea and later in the night i was feeling discomfort in my stomach. my body temp reached to 99.3 F. does this sound like ars symptoms?

3. Is my temp is normal?

4. I wanted to have a duo test @ 28 days but due to my travel to abroad, i will not be able to do that. so I am
planning to have it tomorrow (27th day). will one day makes any difference or its still 99.89% accurate at
27 days?

Kindly help please

*More about HIV window period* :
The window period occurs between the beginning of HIV infection and the demonstration of detectable antibodies to the virus. The window period is almost three to four weeks. Nevertheless it can be extended or longer. The antibody blood tests like ELISA, western blot test, rapid tests, performed during the window period may provide false negative results. Antibodies take almost three weeks to be produced after HIV infection. They become detectable by four or six weeks after HIV infection. This four to six week period is known as a window period.
It means that though the virus exists in blood there are no detectable antibodies in the blood of a person. In such circumstances the tests wrongly exhibit that the person has not been infected with HIV. It does not mean that a person can not infect to others but unknowingly the infection may spread out by a person. People, who are exposed with high risk behavior, are instructed or advised to go through for repeat test after three to six months. Moreover they are advised for use safer sex practices such as using condoms while having sex.
The window period may be extended in some cases. The antibody test may take three months to become positive after the infection of HIV in such cases. Those who think that they may have been infected with HIV, are generally asked to wait at least for four weeks before going through the HIV tests. If in the first test no antibodies detected then the follow up test should be done after completing three months after the assumed exposure.
In the window period a person is infected with the HIV but initially it may not be detected if a person goes through HIV tests.

Your negative DUO test at 28 days is excellent and unlikely to change at 3 Months.

i was having fever of 99.9 F max for 6-7 hours and i took paracetamol and one antibiotic and fever went next day. but to be safe i took tablets next day also.. on day 28th i took a these tablets 6 hours before do my duo test
and went for testing. my results came negative.

Now can a paracetamol and antibiotic tablest and injection taken 6 hours
before to do HIV duo test alter my test results?

Sorry Teak
but can you tell me the last thing.
is it possible to have symptoms started at 26 th day?
because what's confusing me is Dr HHH told they will not come beyond 3 weeks and
always start between 10-20 days

If you want to play odds go to the horse track. HIV is nothing to play odds with.

Yes teak i am aware of that.
but do you think a negative duo test at 27 days make my odds better?

There are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months post exposure.

But Dr HHH has said that duo test at 28 days will cover all the overlapping time
and no need of further testing.
for a guy who had anal sex with knowa hiv positive, he told not to test after 4 weks
and said its conclusive!!

Thanks teak and akossoni for ur kind relpies.

Hi Teak one more question. Is diareaah is consistent with ars.
Dr HHH told once that it'll appear in the later stage and only three symptoms are fever, sore throat and rash.

Hi teak,
yes i am going to have 3 months test to follow officiak guide lines for sure.
but i wanted to know are my symptoms consistent with ars? is diarreah and fever of (99.6)
is considered to be ars?
i know symptoms are never good indicator but its said that atleast 70% people will have all three and
90% pepople will have atleast 2 out of (fever, rash and sore throat)
can u pls tell me if my symptoms are related to ars?
