I had a HIV risk encounter about 4 weeks ago( a little over), and of course i have been scouring the net for the specifics of ARS and early onset of HIV. I have, however, been confused by the lack of differentiation between ARS symptoms and the symptoms of HIV itself. I know that ARS is the virus seroconverting and the efffect it has on your body - rather than the actual effects of HIV itself (actually i would like verification of that as well).
Is tingling in the extremities typical after 4 weeks, also, what about diarrea or bowel symptoms.
Is joint ache typical in the elbows, or is this more than likely caused by something physical.
Are the "flu like symptoms" severe, or noticable? would a mild cough reminicent of a weak cold occur after 4-5 weeks exposure be typical of ARS?
Also, is there a rash associated with ARS? Today i noticed tiny pink dots (very few) scattered around my chest. I squeezed one of them and a little bit of puss like substance came out - not unlike squeezing a pimple, but a crazy one with alot of gunk.
I know that everybody is different and all that, but i notice alot of people posting on the forum about ARS and wondering whether their vague symptoms could represent ARS.
I tested negative after 4/5 weeks, but i am still worried, i am learning to calm down though and consider the statistics objectively. Regardless of the outcome of my next bloodtest, i am going to learn as much about this as possible so that i dont get myself into this stressful situation again.
Also - i got the bloodtest in a hospital in North Thailand (so bloody professional - i have never had better health service). Would anyone have any information on such bloodtests reliability, I dont know what they were even testing for now that i think about it? does anyone have any clue what your standard bloodtest in a hosptial does and its ability to detect HIV after 4/5 weeks? The results came back in 2 hours...thats all i know about it.
Anyway, sorry for long post - its probably confusing as well, if someone could answer my questions i would appreciate it.
Thankyou.
