Boils (Folliculitis ) sign of HIV?

I have been sexually active. I only didn't use a condom once for oral sex. I am having a lot of boils omy forehead. I have one boil on my chest and one in my arm. I am really scared. Is Folliculitis sign of HIV?

Thanks.

Because you have boils and you have extreme fatique you want to do HIV test instead of visiting the doctor for normal checkup? Thats weired. Move on, you never had an exposure.

Thanks Nikhil. Today I felt extreme fatigue too. I has tested after 4 weeks after the incident. Is 4 weeks a good enough? I read that 6-8 weeks is the real test.

Thanks.

I agree with Vance2335. Boils and itching is not a symtom for HIV. You do test after multiple months just becoz you have boils all over, I am sure it would come out negative coz you were never at risk in the scenario you stated.

Hi,

I tested for HIV yesterday and it came back negative. I hear 3-4 weeks is not good enough time period to test and rapid tests sometimes cannot detect it.

I am noticing some boils in my arms and more in chect region now. My skin is aso feeling more itchy. Really scared.

Thanks

Nikhil,

Thanks for your reply. I have always used condoms when having vaginal sex. I had one encounter 4 weeks back and to my knowledge the condom didn't break. I am very nervous about the boils so freaking out. I will look to have a test done soon to allay my fears. I did read that boils can be a sign of HIV.

Thanks.

No risk. More than half of the world practice oral sex without condom. HIV doesnt spread via oral sex. The boils must be due to increase in body heat or some other reason. Visit your local doctor for a checkup. Its good that you use condoms all the time being sexually active. Stick to it :).

Regards,
Nikhil
