Broken Condom Encounter in Costa Rica

Well I'm another worried idiot that did something he/she regrets.  I was in Costa Rica at a big strip club (I'm New to that seen) and I'm worried about HIV.  I had a condom break and didn't realize it until a position change (maybe 2-3 min. in) which then killed the moment of course.  I started out with her on top and the condom broke at the top while we were getting things going (During the insertion it was a little difficult due to dryness and pardon me, endowment) I felt a release and away we went. That release was the condom breaking now that I put two and two together. I did not ejaculate but sat there in a dreaded awe for a few minutes (best estimate) before I went to the bathroom to urinate and clean up.  Should I be worried?

She seemed very calm and kept saying it's okay.  I was told it's a high quality place and their clean by my local friends who frequent the club. They did seem very safe with all acts. We were in the VIP room where it's big bucks to even go in, she was also not cheap by Costa Rica standers I'm told ($300) and she eluded to them being very picky on who they agree to have intercourse with.  The reason I give this info is because I've read the other post and don't really know how things are viewed in Costa Rica.  My friends told me they wouldn't be working there if they were not frequently tested.  I also asked her if she has ever had a condom break and she said no, first time, which made me feel a little better.

All I can say is this will not happen again. LESSON LEARNED.

Should I be crazy worried like I am and what are my chances of HIV infection?

Thanks a lot.

I feel it was basically no condom because it broke in the beginning.  I would have used lube if it were there and I just didn't know the break allowed the entry.  From the looks of the club and with the idea they get tested according to Costa Rica law (tested every three months) I feel better.  I know getting test is the only real way to know but I think you know with family it's hard to skirt the issue.  I don't want to ruin my marriage, it's a hard decision to ether evaluate my risk or tell my wife and wait for a test while possibly ruining my marriage.

I believe I'm a good person that made a terrible mistake.

NO...A higher risk would have been no condom use at all, which is not the situation you found yourself in.

I hear you.  I'm trying to figure my risk, I'm worried to be honest because of my wife and kids.  I feel horrible like most would.  I've been married for 12 years without one slip up and I do this stupid act because we've had some issues as of late.  I was drinking and in the so called moment but it's no excuse.

Do you think I'm a high risk?  I mean I know there is a risk but what is it truly.

thanks again

You can't fix what has happen by worrying, so why worry? It's a waste of time to worry.

You should have used lube when you noticed she was dry. As for testing, you were protected until the condom failed, test at 3 months after the condom failure and obtain your conclusive test result.
