Please help!!Test result confusion
Hello Everybody
I’ve a Doubt In Hiv-1 rna pcr quantitative test.The limit of detection for the test is “20copies/ml”
But in the RESULT INTERPRETATION there is an comment like
* below 20copies/ml- HIV-1RNA Detected, less than 20 HIV RNA copies/ml
My question
•In the test it is mentioned that the limit of detection is “20copies/ml” but what does it mean that by giving such sentence in result interpretation which I have mentioned above?If the test’s limit of detection is “20copies/ml”how it can detect viral copies less than 20 copies/ml and mention it as that.?
