Chance of infection?

Hi and thank you for your help in advance.

I was fooling around with a girl and penetrated her vaginally for all of 10 seconds before we decided to stop.  3 days later I started getting a sore throat a day after that, congested nose and ears, and a very annoying cough with green phlegm. This has been going on for almost two weeks now. I am confused because online has almost every symptom known to man as early infection signs of HIV. Is it? Can it be something else? I am getting tested soon (it was just two weeks ago) but I'm alittle paranoid.

Dazed and confused.

Yeah, everyone in the "know" is telling me to relax, I was getting green phlem and cough (slight sore throat) confused with flu symptoms. This was a brief unprotected encounter. Ill test in 6 weeks and 3months after for peace of mind.

Its been two weeks and im feeling better after antibiotics. Sinus infection seems to be the culprit.

I'll use all of this paranoia and put it towards condoms.

Thank you for your answers.

Yes ofcourse its something else, HIV symptoms show up anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks after a possible exposure and symptoms are never clear indicators of your condition. Was this a protected or unprotected encounter? Theres nothing to worry, HIV is significantly difficult to acquire, anxiety is available at all the stores in the world u can imagine..lol...thoughts can be punishing....YOU ARE FINE....keep us posted on your test results.

Unfortunately,a risk is a risk and only a test result provided to you at 3 months post-exposure will be able to provide you with the answers you seek.Symptoms don,t diagnose hiv only an hiv test result does. All the best

you have reason to believe that this girl has hiv?

in the unlikely event that she does have hiv...10 seconds of penetration is not likely to infect you.   with that being said...i will not guarantee you this.

you need to test to know your status.
6-8 weeks for a good indication
3 months for a conclusive result.
