I want to thank all of you. Last Wednesday I took my test and it was negative. I feel so reassured and if not of your contributions, I could have been at the edge of depression.

USING AN OIL BASED LUBRICANT CAN WEAKEN THE INTEGRITY OF THE CONDOM CAUSING IT TO RUPTURE...WHICH "DID NOT" HAPPEN IN YOUR CASE.
Hi to all of you,
Sorry to bother you again. I know I promised my last question was the last but new events came up. I went to see the doctor and he said i should for 2 more weeks, in order to have full 6 weeks before I can take an HIV test.
Anyway, I am freaking out now because of the long wait and also because I posted the wrong temperature readings. Today, I discovered my normal armpit temperature of 36°C/96.8°F corresponds to an oral temperature of 36.8°C/98.24°C. This implies my above temperature readings will now match to 37.1°C/98.14°F to 37.3/99.14. i don't know if this means I had low-grade fever or not. Did I?
I know this sounds obsessive but it means if I had low-grade fever after possible exposure, coupled with a stomach rash(it actually disappeared on its own after a week), the night sweats and the sore throat, I am quite scared because all of these these happened in 3 weeks without some explanation. In the 4th week, I feel OK and that is scary!
Nevertheless, I have checked a couple of sites on information and while some are so frightening, some are reassuring. I know in my case I had protected sex but I am a bit concerned about the effectiveness condom I used. It was offered by the prostitute and I did not check its expiry date. I don't know if the prostitute I slept with used an oil-based or a water-based lubricant but she did use a lubricant I could not identify.
I will therefore like to ask if an oil-based lubricant used on a condom stored in a hot room(I recall the brothel room was really hot) could affect its effectiveness that is reduce its usefulness and if in a rare case, it could lead to HIV transmission.
I am really stupid at times and I am aware that anxiety and fear can cause some symptoms or exaggerate apparent symptoms (for example the supposed swollen lymph nodes in my last post was just an over-reaction from me)
Please I need your informed opinion because every passing day I feel more guilt that I might have infected my gf (i know she is clean because she took a clean test some months ago).
Many thanks for the help you offer on this forum and I am happy you are all doing a great service...
If your lymph node was swollen from hiv,you would no it ,there would be no question. Like TEAK said the only risk you had was from your girl friend, stress can cause alot of unrelated symptoms . Just have test done you should be fine.......
Hi Teak,
sorry I do not want to bore you but this is is obviously my last question. I discovered a rash spot on my chest and behind my left arm. I also tend to feel a small node under the lymph armpit. I do not know if that qualifies to be a swollen node or not. My question is therefore after 28 days from my experience, could there be a likelihood that I got infected? I arranged to make a test in 2 days but I am just freaking out now. please help
Thanks...in this case I have no reason to fear because my gf and I were both tested negative a long time ago (about 7 months ago). I was tested negative twice within a 4-month period and she was negative about 9 months my negative test.
The only risk was unprotected sex with your girlfriend.
