Hey all, thanks for your valuable answers, I'll cut to the case.
I'm a general doctor and a few hrs ago I was suturing a deep hand cut. When injecting lidocaine, some of it, probably mixed with the patient's blood drops, spurted and landed on my face (around the mouth I believe) and glasses. I wiped it and then washed everything off, after I came around from the small shock. Do I run a risk of getting an infection?
To help you answer, the patient mentioned no personal history (but I didn't inquire exactly thoroughly) whatsoever and I'm vaccinated against Hep B.
Should I go to the ER and maybe get some baseline tests or just call it a day?
Thanks again.
