HIV Scare

Hello all.. I have been beside myself the past couple of days. I wanted to post on here to get some feedback from the community.

On February 19th, I had sex with a stranger while I was very drunk. I do believe I heard a condom being put on but I can't be sure. On March 23rd I began having pain that spread rather quickly throughout all my lymph nodes and body. I have been experiencing headaches, muscle pain, nausea, diarrhea, night sweats, and disruptive sleep. No fever, sore throat or rash. I had a rapid (blood) HIV test today which was negative. I also did an antibody blood test which will be back on Thursday. I'm going back to get tested again in a few weeks if my HIV antibody is negative. But I wanted to know how conclusive is my rapid (blood) HIV test after 6 weeks? I also had blood drawn last Friday and my doctor checked my white blood cells..he said everything came back normal. How long until the white blood cells are affected by HIV or ARS? Is it immediately or is it something that happens in the progression of HIV?

They are accurate for a conclusive negative test at 3 months post exposure.

Teak, do you know how accurate a rapid blood test is after 6 weeks of possible exposure?

There is no pain with the lymph nodes due to ARS.

Yes definitely no fever. But all my lymph nodes were definitely swollen and still are a little bit, they don't pain much except when I stand or stretch my arms, or bend my legs or arms.. Do lymph nodes just swell with ARS? No pain?

Lymph nodes with ARS are not painful. No fever then you haven't went through ARS.

wbc count are not affected by ars
if you are sure you had put on a condom then you had no risk
if you are not sure..then you need to test at 6-8 weeks for a good indication of your status
test again at 3 months for a conclusive result
