Thanks for your response, I will seek help or at least get more informed starting today.
Your anxiety is getting to you. Take a test today for your peace of mind if you want to help calm yourself down, but if you want an accurate result you'll have to test at 3 months.
But, again, you had no risk and nothing to worry about. You're anxious. You're feeling guilty. You're a bit scared. You don't have HIV.
Given your anxiety issues it would be a good idea for you to go into a testing center and sit down with a counselor who can answer your questions and put your fears to rest once and for all. That's the only reason I suggest you go get a test now. The more you know and are educated about the virus and how it is and isn't transmitted, the less anxious you will be.
I have anxiety issues which I have been treated for but maybe they are just coming back during this tough moment for me. Anyways, I'm planning to take a test today, is it true that at 3+ weeks tests are at least 90% accurate?
Is there a risk? No.
Sore throats, fevers, muscle aches, rashes, etc. are common in thousands of different illnesses. Thus, they are not a good predictor of HIV/ARS.
HIV is not transmitted in the manner you described. It cannot penetrate intact skin and begins to lose its ability to infect the moment it comes in contact with air outside the body. It is very fragile, and thus you had no risk whatsoever.
