False positive mono indicate HIV? Lab code correct test? Accurate OraQuik?

Hi, sorry this is a little lengthy but I would like to give full details. I had a moment of bad judgement. 8 weeks ago I had unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. 10 days later I came down with a sore throat (lasted 10 days) and swollenlymph nodes along with some fatigue and sore muscles that lasted for a few weeks. I also developed some night sweats that lasted a few weeks on and off but not drenching. I know that symptoms are not a good indicator of infection alone but they still worry me. I've had some neck pain since too. On one hand I think my anxiety is on overdrive on the other I realize the depth of the error of my choice. A few days after my sore throat began I went to urgent care because I thought I had strep but that was negative as was a mono test and throat culture. 3 weeks after the incident I went in to get tested for STD's and HIV. My tests came back all negative, thankfully, but this time I did test positive for mono. No idea how I got it as the incubation period doesn't line up with me having kissed anyone nor do I share food and drinks with people. The clinic didn't seem to mention I should retest although I had told them it had just been 3 weeks since my high risk incident. I am not sure what kind of test they did. After too much online searching I panicked after learning about the window period and possiblity of false mono test. I googled the lab code on the receipt which came up as a 4th gen test although the type only said HIV 1&2 an test. Can I trust the lab code that it is a 4th gen? Obviously that would make me feel more confident about the negative result. I saw a site that said even a 4th gen would only be 65% certain at the 3 week mark which leaves too much room for missing infection for me to be comfortable. If it was a 3rd gen how likely is it to have caught infection at 3 weeks? I also then purchased an OraQuik test kit and did that a day shy of post 6 week mark of incident. It was negative which I've read some places is a good indicator. Of course soon after I panicked and wondered if I performed it correctly (although I followed instructions exactly as stated and shown in the YouTube video link on their site) or that it is still too soon for it to detect? I plan on taking another OraQuik at the 9 week mark in a few days and then go back for a blood test at the 12 week mark to be conclusive and sure. However in the meantime can I trust the tests I've had so far? If this next OraQuik is negative can I be pretty confident that I am in the clear and just need to learn from my bad mistake?
I thank you so much for the time and effort in offering me information.

I can understand being worried since you had unprotected sex, however, you have now tested negative.  Which is great.  That is very unlikely to change but since you tested with an Oraquick test, you should wait until the 3 month mark to be 100 percent accurate. Again, it isn't going to change in the real world.  Remember that a one time exposure is actually a really low risk of less than 2 percent (and only if the other person is hiv+, it's zero if they aren't).

Remember that HIV is never diagnosed by symptoms and that your symptoms are very likely just every day issues that we all have. You are just anxious and attributing it to your exposure. Try not to do that.  If you can get a 4th generation test done, then this is all over. Otherwise, wait until 3 months and take another test to get your FINAL negative.

I understand about the symptoms and I also know that some things may normally be there that I just never noticed before being worried. I am trying to be realistic about the situation. I am worried because although I know the chances are low the chance still exist and I did participate in one of the higher risk chances. I just worry because of the window period and timing on the testing combined with the Symptoms and of course what I read online.
I appreciate your response and advice. I am planning on going to get blood work for a final negative at the 3 month mark and I will trust that result. In the meantime I just want to know how reassured I should be on my already negative tests in the time they were taken, plus be realistic about what I may be able to expect.

Calm down. You are certainly going through a lot of anxiety.
I have news for you, a negative with a IV Gen at 3 weeks and another one with a rapid at 6 weeks is absolutely indicative of the fact that you don't have HIV.

At this point, you do have the option of going to a lab and getting your self a standard HIV test to obtain a conclusive, that should help you overcome the stress you are going through, I guarantee it's going to be a negative. Or, should you not have access to a standard HIV test, just wait until 12 weeks to get another rapid, it going to be okay.

Focus on the test result not on symptoms, this forum has been there for more than a decade to see an obscene amount of people complain about every symptom synonymous to HIV, yet testing consistently negative. Anxiety is real, it can do amazing things to your body. I suggest you also see a therapist for overcoming your guilt or fear or whatever is causing you to think about HIV constantly, a seating with a professional would enable proper diagnosis of your situation, reach out for the help. You are going to be okay.

Good luck.

Thank you for your comment. I know my anxiety is getting to me and only made worse with the timing of contracting mono and the similarity in symptoms plus not knowing how I would get mono. Do you think it would be best to wait until the 12 week mark to do a blood test? Or is 8 weeks conclusive? I thought I'd do the oraquick now as that would offer me some further reassurance until I officially test at the end of the window period. Or do you think that the oraquick at nearly 9 weeks would be pointless right now? I don't want to waste time and money but I do want a little extra reassurance right now. Also, would you think that the lab code indicating a 4th gen is accurate or do you think it's just a 3rd gen since the wording only says antibody and not duo or antigen?
I did state before, a standard HIV test would give you a decisive result at this point. 6 week is sufficient for a III and IV Generation HIV test.
