Fear of Hiv

Dear Doctor,

I am very concerned about Hiv and I hope you could help me to relief this terrible feeling. Since last January I had sex with a couple (+/- 7) of sex workers (women and homosexual guys) and we did protected anal, vaginal and oral sex, always with a condom.

Just for one time, as I was curious, I asked the girl to let me to ejaculate in her mouth, so after the protected anal sex, I removed the condom, I masturbate myself and prior to my ejaculation, she put her mouth in my penis for 5 to 10 secs.

Since then, I cannot sleep well, because first I think that my hand could have touched the external part of the condom before I masturbate myself, thus touching my penis. Secondly I am afraid that she could have passed hiv to me as she put her mouth on my genital.

The other concern is that, even using condom (I am always careful when removing the air of the tip, unroll until the end, etc), I am very concerned that something could have happened. Once after finishing an protected anal sex, the condom was a litle stuck in her rectum, but only the tip. Anyway, the condom was in my penis.

I am in panic, please help me as I have fear to make the test...

Thanks,

OK Lizzie,

Sorry to keep repeating the same... The reason I asked is because It is only 5 weeks after my last contact with the sex workers...

If you are saying that it is really ok, no problem. I thank you again...

The fact is that I am getting crazy

I am so worried Lizzie...

Hi Lizzie,

Thanks for your answer, but I am still thinking of that. Probably I feel guilty to have cheated my girlfriend.

From the cases I mentioned do you really believe that I shouldn'd be tested?

hiv is not transmitted through oral sex...you had NO risk

once exposed to air, hiv becomes inactive and unable to infect.  touching the condom did not put you at risk.

continue to use condoms for penetrative sex.  testing is not needed.
