You cannot self diagnose thrush. Doctors have a hard time without doing a culture.
Try the spit test. Gather up a lot of saliva and spit in a clear cup filled with water. Wait ten minutes. If the water is clear it's not thrush. If the water has stringy white stuff floating around it probably is.
Get a culture ran by a doctor.
No I havn't been diagnosed with oral thrush yet.I have posted a picture of my mouth however in my profile and it looks like it is oral thrush(i am comparing to the pictures ive seen online). What do you think.Oral thrush or not?
hello dear.
do you have public transit in your city/town?
can you hail a cab? Look into clinics that perhaps do anonymous rapid testing so you will know your answer right away and won't have to look for a way to get back to the doctors to find out your result.
you'll have your answer right away . It's been at least 5 months since any of your exposures so you can rest assured that your test will be accurate.
good luck
Has a doctor or dentist diagnosed this as oral thrush yet? I read time and time again on here how people think white on the tongue is oral thrush when there are SEVERAL other causes of a "white coating" on the tongue as well...
You can go to your doctor and get tested. Will they have an Oraquick test, can't advise. Will your insurance pay for it can't advise you of that either. Depends on your insurance company and your co-pay. Women are at a higher risk of contracting HIV from a guy than visa versa.
So far all the posts ive read are from people with low risk exposures such as oral sex or a male having unprotected sex with a female.I have yet to come across any posts where a female is concerned after having unprotected sex with a male.By any chance do you happen to know the transmission rate when it comes to females being at risk from unprotected sex? I know symptoms do not mean you are HIV+ but its scary when you've slept around and all of a sudden come down with oral thrush.I know all I need is to get tested to put my mind at ease but im carless and am embarassed to ask for a ride to get tested.I am curious about the Oraquick test.Do I just go to any doctor/hospital and request to have this done? Would insurance cover the test or no? Any feedback would be much appreciated seeing your like the King/Ruler of this board.
Yes, it's been answered, over and over again.
