Good afternoon. I went for my yearly HIV testing with the fingerprick test. My question is this. The technician opened all of the material needed for the test from the packet and laid all material on the towel thats included. He touched the pipette and the lancet all without gloves. I noticed he had a cut on his finger that was not bandaged. He handled all my testing materials with this cut on hand. He proceeded to put gloves on and conduct the test. My question as silly as it seems is if he got his blood on the pipette and put this pipette directly onto my fingerstick site to collect my blood, is there any risk of anything? I wish i never saw his cut as it has left me paranoid. Thank you for your assistance.
