I am sorry to use the word clean. My intention to mention is I hope my health is clean.
You need to discuss it with your doctor.
I am in India. So whom can I contact for PEP in India. Please help me.
Check the side effects of ARV's. Taking them unecessarly could cause major health concerns, that is the reason for the guidelines. It's not like taking an asprin.
But Teak, now we don't know the status of that man... what if he was HIV+. The guidelines will not help in such situations.
The guidelines for nPEP is when one is exposed to a KNOWN hiv positive partner.
Man just wake up and leave all the statistics and probabilities aside.
Even if I told you the percentage of anal homo sex is 01%, you might be the person who is experiencing this percentage and in this case your chances are 100% for picking up the HIV.
Sorry for my harsh words, But you have a chance now to save yourself by doing the PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) and make sure to head right now to the hospital.
If he had transmission, the risk of transmission in the type of circumstances that you mention is 1 in 100 exposures. However I would hypthesise that your risk is higher (IF he had HIV) because you were both insertive and receptive.
Clean? People with HIV are not dirty it's a disease.
Please tell me the chances of getting infected with first ever unprotected homo sex. If you can tell me the probability, it would be great as the incident happened just 36 hrs back, I am really worried of spending another 3 months with mental tensions. I hope I will still stay clean after 3 months, leaving everything on God. I hope he will forgive me for my first ever mistake.
1- DO NOT touch your wife till you get three months exclusive negative results.
2- It would be wise to consider taking PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) treatment as soon as possible.
Read more about it on (http://www.gmfa.org.uk/sex/hivandaids/pep).
Act quickly as soon as you can .
You should also not even consider having unprotected sex with your wife until you have recieved a negative test at 3 months.
You had unprotected anal sex and that was your exposure. Saliva is not infectious. You can test 3 months post exposure to obtain your conclusive test result.
