HIV related Query

Hi,

I am 29 male.
40 days back I had protected sex with the Commercial sex worker in London.
I used two condoms one over the other during the intercourse.
Recently I got bad cold for two days with fever and throat infection
I went through the Elisa test but it came out as negative.
I also went for the Haemogram test when I had cold and in that WBC came out below nomal range (4500- 10000), mine was 3800. Doctor told that I have a Viral fever due to which WBC are less. After taking medicines fever and cold was okay.
I am planning to go for the Elisa test after 3 months also.
Does my current cold and low WBC means that I got infected with HIV and in window period?

Best to get tested to curb your anxiety and fears.  With this said however, your actual risk really didn't exist since you used protection.

HIV symptoms are the same as those found in a million other things, many of which are not serious.

Hi Raji,

This is based on material in these forums from Doctor's and others like ourselves. As long as the condom did not fall off during intercourse, you should be fine. Symptoms are never a reliable indicator. The window period for ARS seems to be 10 to 20 days.
Also, even if the condom did fall off, your chances of hiv infection would be 1 in 2000 if circumsized, and 1 in 1000 if uncircumsized. The only way to know for sure is to get tested and find out. I wish you the best but I believe and hope that you are ok.
