HIV 1 and 2 Generation 4 test accuracy while on other medication.

I had protected sex with a woman that is into the swinger lifestyle back on Oct 13th of 2017. I had gotten increasingly worried after she told me that she tested positive for Ureaplasma so I got tested for it as well. My results came back negative. I also tested myself for Hepatitis A, B, C all came back negative.

I have IBD and take Mesalamine for it. Being how I am getting random muscle aches and hives on my body,  and my armpits itch and get hives as well that go away within an hour or two I grew increasingly worried. These symptoms are reported by folks that suffer with IBD as well.

I performed a Oraquick test which came out negative at 5 weeks. Then I went and got a Gen 4 HIV 1 & 2 blood test done on Dec 6th 2017 which came out negative. From what I have been reading 3 months is the conclusive time frame but my anxiety has gotten to me and came to post here.

Would my medication throw the test off to produce a false negative? After doing the Oraquick Test and Gen4 test should I go back in a couple of weeks at the 3 month period and call it conclusive if negative?

Your 4th generation test is conclusive because it was done after its cut off of 4 weeks.

The medicines that affect the results and may yield a false negative test are PEP, medication for Hepatitis B and C ans chemotherapy.

No, Mesalamine will not interfere with your HIV test results.  Your test taken on December 6 is conclusive - you do not have HIV, and you do not need any further tests.

Thank you for the reply. Just for my own peace of mind I will re-do another Gen 4 test at 12 weeks. Waste of time and money? Maybe but will ease my mind once and for all.
Consider therapy instead of a test, for your HIV phobia. If therapy works, you will have some tools to deal with future issues, whereas taking a placebo test is no guarantee that you will believe the result and is a bit of a temporary solution. However the choice is yours to make..
