I am so worried---please help

I performed oral sex on a male (gay) for about 5-10 seconds 1 month ago. He was not sexually active and was almost abstinent. I did a 4 weeks Rapid Test---NEGATIVE. Now I have a lot of very itchy bumps, like mosquito bites, and am frigtened to death.

What should I do?? Any one help me?

Dr.HHH told you, "such a brief exposure transmission was virtually impossible." And he went on to say that you do not have HIV and no further testing is needed.

If you can't believe this forum o Dr.HHH who are you going to believe? A non-expert. Find a new therapist who does not try to give you medical advice and let that be done by professionals like Dr.HHH.

then i suggest you pay your money and ask him yourself why he stated that because i can give you MANY quotes where he states it is not a risk.

OK. I'll try my best. But here is what Dr. HHH said on the Expert Forum:
"HIV is not transmitted sexually unless a bare penis is inserted inside someone's vagina, rectum, or MOUTH." I am again confused.

we have a hiv anxiety community here at medhelp where you should be posting.

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/HIV-Anxiety-Support/show/595

there is nothing more that we can tell you that we havent already repeated many times over.  this is not the correct forum to continue posting in.

Thanks Kumar007. I do keep reminding myself. But there are different opinions...The testing center people seem to be dubious about this. And all the pamphlets say there is risk. I CANNOT CONTROL MYSELF!!!!

Thank you all, Lizzie, Kumar. I know I am being ridiculous. I really WANT to move on, and I am trying very hard. I even went the counselling. The person who counselled me, however, kept saying that "you know 5 weeks is not definitive, 6 weeks is not definitive, and 7 weeks is still not...". I know I should believe in you guys and Dr. Hansfield, but I am tortured by what she said.

I know I suffer from great anxiety and depression and obsession. What, on earth, shoudl I do? Please forgive me for nagging. I hope I am really just  over-reactive.

Hi friends,

I took my 6 weeks test yesterda and it was NEGATIVE. Can I really trust this and have a peace of mind now? I know I am being stupid and ridiculous, I guess it's still the guilt plaguing me.
So, what's your opinion?

OK, I went for the 5 week Rapid test today: NEGATIVE, and went through 2 sessions of counselling. The person told me it was my Conscience. At the mean time, I am waiting for the standard test result which will come out in 10 days.

I still got the itchy bums on my arms and legs. Is it because the body is producing Antibodies to the viruses (hence, the symtoms) so that the test is fine?

Always worried...

oh you're going to die ONE day...but it's NOT going to be from giving some dude head.

it's a guilt thing...not a hiv thing.

Really? I am going to DIE. I started slapping my face...
I knew you are reliable. but some website says that rash can come even after 4 weeks after possible exposure. My rash (very itchy bums, look like mosquito bites) came in the 5th week. At the same time, my wife also has one or two itchy spots on her body. This makes me feel like I am an absolutely JERK.

What if I transmitted to her, the woman that Loves me so much and whom I love so much? I feel guilty about myself, I want to kill myself.

The 4 week's test NEGATIVE result seems meaningless now, since people keep saying that one has to wait 2 months.

Lizzie, what should I do? At the same time, I have to work. I am teaching, so I have to face my students and my family.

Thank you Lizzie. I did take a test because i remember I had a recovering sore in my mouht. The guy was very reliable and it was no a hook-up. We never did anything else except for that. Are these considerations lower my risk? I have a loving, innocent wife...
