Take a test at three months this will give a conclusive result then you need to practice safe sex religiously.
Don't have unprotected sex until you are in a monogamous relationship and you've both tested negative together.
Unfortunately, determining whether or not a person has HIV cannot be done going by symptoms alone. Even a doctor, if he or she does not perform testing for HIV, will likely write off your symptoms as cold, flu or otherwise (such as a bacterial infection like strep). This is because ARS/Primary HIV Infection mimics that of many other common illnesses that have NO association with ARS. Only a conclusive test result for HIV, at 3 months, will provide you a 'yes' or 'no' answer.
ARS occurs 2-4 weeks post exposure, and is usually accompanied by a HIGH fever with a duration of 1-2 weeks. After those 1-2 weeks, ARS and symptoms related will not "linger".
Any sort of unprotected vaginal and/or anal sex poses a risk for contracting any type of STD/STI. Again, you can trust a conclusive test result at 3 months post exposure.
