So, about two weeks ago, I had sex with some prostitutes in Thailand. In every sexual encounter I wore a condom. I continued my travels around SE Asia, and over the last few days, I developed a scratchy throat, that went away, then I had bad diarrhea for a few days, and my lower back and neck have been aching. I don't have swollen lymphs nodes, nor do I have a rash, headache, and, I'm pretty sure I don't/haven't had a fever.
I've been freaking out thinking that I may have picked up HIV from one of the prostitutes. It's possible that I briefly came into contact with vaginal fluid, but I honestly can't remember. My condom didn't rip at all.
With the "flu-like" symptoms, I started to get concerned about HIV. However, I have to wonder if my travels are responsible for getting me ill, and not HIV. I'm in SE Asia, and a lot of stuff is going around here, and I heard that if you go from hot outside temperatures to cold, air conditioned, inside temperatures, you can get ill. Plus, I have consumed ice while here, and wonder if that's the reason for my diarrhea.
Am I being too paranoid?
Can I get a reliable test at 2 weeks?
Thank you.
