HIV from a hand job

Hi,

Recently one month back on Feb 26th and March 1st  i had an handjob twice on the first day and once on the march 1st from a massage parlor. I am not sure whether she has any cuts .

I am worried and got tested on march 8th, exactly one week later , hiv 1/0/2 and came as non reactive.
Again i tested the hiv 1 on march 24 th came as non reactive. On the same day i got tested for PCR DNA that is exactky 24 days from the second incident and it came as non reactive a neagtive.

After one month of the hand job incident and 9 days later the PCR DNA test, i got an headache, severe bone pains, leg pains and fever. The CBC report of the blood has high neutrophilia, less lymphocytes,
neutrophilia - 82.5%
Lymphocytes - 8.9%.
Iam worried that low lymphocytes indicates recent infection of hiv.

Doctor said it is acute viral syndrome.

Was my PCR DNA test on 24th days is it not accurate, if i dont trust my hiv antibody test on 24 th day.

Please help me , i am worried. I am not sure how much we can trust on PCR. The low levels of lymphocytes is worring me now.

Regards,
worried

hey kumar,

i have read in internet that it gives as false positives. also as u said this should be as a confirmation test. what if i have used as a test for diagnosis ( as it directly looks for virus ) and it came as negative at 24th day. If suppose if iam at risk and the negative result of PCR DNA is not conclusive ?.  I read that it is 99 percent conclusive at 28 days after exposure. I am worried as in my case, i had some fever at 24th day and decrease in lymphocytes .

when you say its not a diagnostic test and a confirmatory test , do u mean that it cannot detect the virus if it is done as a diagnostic test....
if a confirmatory test is directly done without diagnostic test, and the result negative will we take in to consideration.

how do we say there is no risk if there are cuts on hands ?.

pcr test is not a diagnostic test...its a confirmatory test used to confirm hiv diagnosis after an antibody test shows positive
you cant get hiv even if she had cuts on her hands...
you were never at risk...

Yes i have seen that in the basics of transmission .
Wanted to know is the PCR DNA test can recognise in 24 days if any virus/ or it wil only detect in 28 days.
what if she has cuts on her hands ?.

Also why my lymphocytes got decreased ?.

You are worrying too much.  HIV is not transmitted by mutual masturbation, hand jobs, touching, etc.
