you had NO RISK
pcr tests are not diagnostic tests..antibody tests are the diagnostic tests
you need to MOVE ON
hey kumar,
i have read in internet that it gives as false positives. also as u said this should be as a confirmation test. what if i have used as a test for diagnosis ( as it directly looks for virus ) and it came as negative at 24th day. If suppose if iam at risk and the negative result of PCR DNA is not conclusive ?. I read that it is 99 percent conclusive at 28 days after exposure. I am worried as in my case, i had some fever at 24th day and decrease in lymphocytes .
you had no risk to begin with..
pcr test gives alot of false positive results..its only used as a confirmatory test
you need to move on
when you say its not a diagnostic test and a confirmatory test , do u mean that it cannot detect the virus if it is done as a diagnostic test....
if a confirmatory test is directly done without diagnostic test, and the result negative will we take in to consideration.
how do we say there is no risk if there are cuts on hands ?.
pcr test is not a diagnostic test...its a confirmatory test used to confirm hiv diagnosis after an antibody test shows positive
you cant get hiv even if she had cuts on her hands...
you were never at risk...
Yes i have seen that in the basics of transmission .
Wanted to know is the PCR DNA test can recognise in 24 days if any virus/ or it wil only detect in 28 days.
what if she has cuts on her hands ?.
Also why my lymphocytes got decreased ?.
You are worrying too much. HIV is not transmitted by mutual masturbation, hand jobs, touching, etc.
