HIV in Thai GO GO Bars

I am really interested to know about HIV testing in the Thai go go bars. I have spent days on the internet trying to find out info on the statistics of HIV in the Thailand bars. There are plenty of statistics for thailand as a whole but it needs to be broken down. There a a lot of small local brothels which locals go to where condoms are not used which would affect the statistics of the HIV in the GO GO bars where the girls are supposed to be tested monthly/quarterly. They are also having sex with tourists where condoms are being used on most occasions. Providing stats on thai sex workers should be broken down into categories, local brothels and tourists sex workers. The stats would be much different.
I have recently come back from Thailand where I have spoken to a lot of expats and local girls about the amount of HIV in the bars. Every response I got from about 6 girls and about 4 expats who run the bars sounded like good news but when reading articles and comments on the internet you see a darker side. I have heard rumours that girls can pay off doctors/nurses big money in order to change the HIV results so they can keep working. This may be possible but personally think that this wouldnt happen because the results come from a lab. One expat had run a bar for 5 years and said he had never had a girl come back with a HIV positive result. On the other hand, there has been random tests in bars and groups of up to 3-4 girls have been found positive indicating that the girls are not being tested properly. It is hard to find the real answer.

It would be nice to know how many of these girls get tested positive and on what frequency. EG. for a GO GO bar with 40 girls on the staff list, how many of them would get tested positive to HIV over a 1 year period. If anybody has any idea on these stats it would be great to hear from you.

Thanks
LBS

HIV is not a game or risks and stats, doesnt matter if you are in the US, Thailand, Haiti, South Africa, use condoms. Besides HIV is not the only STD you need to worry about, there are a lot of other nasty bugs out there.  Dont worry yourself over stats, worry that you have a latex with you.

It doesnt matter if you have sex with a GO GO girls, or a 28 ex nun coming out of church if you did it protected,

As rightly said by Teak,, I am concerned about myself when it comes to HIV transmission risk. If I am responsible enough, either use condoms correctly and consistently, or avoid penetrative pleasure with anyone of unknwon status, it hardly bothers me what percentage of women are infected, I had interaction with.

Unprotected sex with anyone of unknown status is dangerous anywhere in the world, including Thailnad.

Use a condom consistently and correctly and you won't have to worry about contracting HIV. Won't matter if the person you had sex with has HIV/AIDS or not.
