Just a follow up to this. And I do thank you for your help and time. Very compassionate of you.
I spoke to Oraquick's customer service today who said false negatives do occur, however, are due to people taking the test prior to the 3 month mark and or people who eat / drink within 30 minutes of taking the test. She went onto explain that if a person taking the test followed the instructions (stated above) the test yield 99% accuracy. Just thought I would share this for anyone who comes across this posting and has any questions. Sincerely and thank you again.
I agree Ruby. Just think some of the info being put out there could be a bit more specific. When someone reads 1/12 will receive a false negative red flags and anxiety go up. If it was reported that 1/12 have that ratio due to testing too soon or ignoring the test directions I believe nerves would be at ease.
Any confirmatory test at 3 months will give you CONCLUSIVE results.
You're welcome.
You don't need to figure anything out. Just accept your conclusive negative result and move on with your life.
Thank you. Accurate despite the 1/12 figure they gave on false negatives though? Just can't figure that out.
The Oraquick may take a little longer than other tests to detect antibodies, but at 12 weeks or over a negative Oraquick is conclusive. You don't need further testing.
