reply in Body stating ars 5-90 days

Hello to everyone,

most  sources I have read, state that when ars occurs, it occurs between 2 - 4 weeks, or maybe 2 - 6 weeks. Today I found a doctor's reply in the "Body" website which states that ars can occur anywhere between 5 - 90 days. I understand that statistics about primary infection and window periods are still vague but such an opinion isn't it exaggerating?

I was tested negative at 7 weeks (eliza) and now wait for the completion of the 12 weeks. I felt quite sick and exhausted around week 7 but i had thought that it was due to the anxiety of being tested and waiting the results. Now I am again very much anxious. Could ars come so late?

Thank your for reading this and sharing your knowledge. It is a very hard time waiting for the results and dealing with all this. Best wishes to everyone and courage

All I have to tell you is don't go to the body. ARS happens if it happens at all 2-4 post infections and lasts 1-2 weeks.

Hello teak,

thank you for your immediate answer. I have read countless replies of yours telling this. I didn't want to bother you repeating the same, i was just puzzled with what "body" said, because I thought that it was a good resource of informations, although most doctors reply in a rather indifferent?? manner.

I have become so weak due to agony these weeks, reading about this subject and scanning through forums for some hope or compassion. How little can someone (me) become when he is in front (or believes that he is) of something so frightening.

I have read many of your posts and i want to thank your for all the help that you give and the patience you have when we ran to your like afraid children for some help.

thanks

Hi there,

Thought I should mentioned this....when we read certain post, one needs to take note of the date of the articles.  If we used an article dated 2004, than the information maybe outdated, e.g. window period of 6 months for all.  I'm not referring to the article you mentioned(I don't know which one), but in general.

And also each person body react and act differently, that's why one cannot base on signs and symptoms to link HIV infection.  Only a blood test is reliable.
