Received Oral Sex

Hi Guys I’m 31 years old male so scared after looking in the internet at so many websites telling that  there is negligible risk or low risk chance regarding the receiving oral sex to to contract HIV.

This is the first major slip in my entire life, where I received oral sex by a man of unknown statues; he is gay guy and had many encounters before me, I didn’t think at that moment about the risks that I will put myself into.

I’m so scared after the encounter, the third day or so I got a sore throat, itching all over the body, headache, hot flashes,  on 17th day after the encounter I had more severe sore throat, stomach pain, I Wasn't not sure about the stomach may be is due to the stress and nerves. But 100% sure that i was in sero-conversion and HIV was killing my immune system, where the sore throat didn't recover fast.

I had tested at 12 days for STD and HIV 4th generation Combo all came negative, but for HIV test was still too early to produce antibodies to be detectable by the standard test.

I have read a lot of you guys telling that receiving oral sex is  zero risk activity, but then the other sites about AIDS tell that it's negligible risk or low risk activity that this way can happen that it is not impossible. In the case if there is Gum disease, mouth ulcer, etc. will increase the percentage of contract the virus.

The sore throat scared me it looked like pharyngitis, my voice was  hoarse for about 22 days started from the 3rd day after the encounter now my sore throat is much better now, some rash on my shoulder and back it has been more than 20 days come and go.

Today it's been 30 days since the exposure, my body is dehydrated, with foamy urine, dry and sensitive skin, dry mouth, armpit pain non-consistent, bitter taste in mouth, lower back pain.

On 28th days post exposure i did all STD, and Hep, A,B, E,C. and HIV COMBO 4th generation test at lifelab in Ontario,  now i'm waiting for the results from the lab, it  takes a week or so, planning to do another test, at at 6 weeks post exposure,  HIV 4th generation combo.

I wanted to go testing for HIV RNA test but here in Canada is not available for everyone,  only in case if they knew the person is HIV positive  :-\, and there is no such a free HIV RNA test research to do a test in Canada, The HIV RNA test is available in US as they do it in San Diego as part of the research, as well many cities and states in US.

I was at my  Dr office and he told me that i have to do a test at 6 weeks and then again at 3 months, and even told me that even oral sex is considered low risk activity, but it doesn't mean it is impossible to contract HIV.  The test waiting period 3 months is such a long one.

Most HIV specialists consider the 4th generation test to be conclusive at just 6 weeks, and many countries are now adopting this,  as the guideline 99% of HIV cases can be diagnosed after 28 days by detecting P24 antigen which is always present pre HIV,  H. Hunter Handsfield, M.D.

Any information regarding this situation will be much appreciated, what do you think Doctors about my dehydration, dry skin, dry mouth, foamy urine more when i wake up, and armpit pain are they related to HIV or related to other STD?

You are experiencing them because you keep imaging a 'Positive' result, which's impossible, the thought itself is stressing you, stress does cause skin sensitivity, gastrointestinal sensitivity, etc.

I've gone through this anxiety period until I read more about HIV.

Combo tests are conclusive after 28 days, I read a topic around here about why test companies are obliged to say that a test is conclusive in 3 months.

PS; Oral might not transmit HIV, but might transmit other STDs. If your symptoms persist, visit an urologist for a STD check up.

Thank you a lot, but i'm still worried about that experience. Waiting for the test results  HIV Combo test.

What bothers me that i'm so dehydrated, with dry skin,  sensitive skin, however i drink a lot of  water but still thirsty, and my skin is dry , armpit pain,  bitter taste, and urine problems sometimes is foamy, the other times is dark yellow.

Oral sex is not a risk for HIV.

You did not have a risk and don't require testing. Continue to expect negative results.

But Why i'm experiencing those symptoms now, where before i didn't have any single one at all.
