Hiv test conclusive?

Hi doctors, thank you for your helping in this forum, i m really stressfull and i hope you can tell me the right way and what i have to do , i m an italian guy 25 years old, i had one unprotected sex With one taiwan girl in australia, i did in italy two tests , ab/ag chemiluminescence , one at 34 days and one at 43 days, they come back negative, in italy guideline say is conclusive at 90 days , éven if some association say 6 weeks are enought, and i Know in france test is conclusive at 6 weeks, i know you are expert, can i ask what do you think about my tests, can i close and try to convince my self than im hiv-? Or i need to re test ? I think that i have herpes genital, can this infection change my hiv test ? Can some CO-infections change my tests? And the tests are conclusive for hiv-2 and all subtype ? I hope you can help me. Thank s a lot

I would trust the CDCs recommendations here which is 12 weeks after exposure. There even certain countries which have not updated their guidelines and still read as 6 months like mine. Personally I'll be happier if the window period is cut down to only 6 weeks. It saves eveyone the agony of suspense. But until the CDC changes its stance. I would say 12 weeks would be conclusive.

The tests nowadays a very sensitive. Don't worry too much about the subtypes. The tests look for antigen and antibodies regardless of subtypes. Only upon testing positive, the subtypes will be determined.
