2nd opinion

Hi. Exactly 33 days ago I had protected sex with a person of unknown status. To the best of my knowledge the condom was applied correctly although I cannot recall exactly as I was under the influence of alcohol. About 1 week later I noticed an itchy red blotch on the top of my hand. This itchiness subsided and turned into a tingling sensation in the fingertips which was accompanied by very visible blotchiness on the palms. I also noticed a few spots and a strange bruise like rash around the inside of my feet and just behind the ankle bone. At this point I went to a GP and was tested for HIV and syphilis - both negative. I subsequently experienced a discernible period of night sweats and fatigue, probably about 2 weeks after possible exposure. I had another test for HIV 24 days after possible exposure which also came back negative. My doctor suggested the possibility of hand foot and mouth (I also have a few ulcer like legions in the mouth which are not painful, seem to come and go, and are beneath my lower lip), and on the basis of what he had seen, thought it was very unlikely that I had contracted the virus. Since the test at 24 days, probably around day 30, I noticed the glands behind my ears, and also I think in my armpits and groin area have become enlarged. The skin on my hands has flaked a little and, although it does not appear to be noticeable to others, my cheeks seem to be peppered with what look like burst blood vessels, and the skin around the outside of my eyes seems very dry. I have also, around day 30/31 noticed very loose bowel movements. From what I can tell from the literature avaailable online, about the only thing I have not observed is a pronounced rash on the trunk, or severe flu like symptoms. If I am honest I am expecting these to appear over the coming days and weeks.

I intend to go for another test asap but wondered what your thoughts were. Is there anything else you think this could be? Of course I am extremely worried and have not been able to share this with those closest to me. I would appreciate some further guidance.

Many thanks
