Unprotected sex. Symptoms after few days
I had unprotected sex stupidly both oral and vaginal with a girl. A few days after exposure I had a sore throat and my lymph nodes in neck below ears swoll. The sore throat lasted 2 days and has now gone but my lymph nodes are still swollen. I'm terrified I might have early hiv seroconversion. Sore throat after 3 days gone after 5 days. Lymph nodes swollen after 3 days and still swollen. Taken temp and no sign of fever. Throat no longer sore but a bit raw. Could this be hiv. I read most sites that it takes 2 to 4 weeks before seeing symptoms. Please advise as I'm going out of my head with worry. Thank you.
You can have HIV RNA PCR test after 2 weeks of exposure if tested negative, you are 99 % HIV negative person and you can do a confirmation CMIA or ELISA after 3 months to eleminate the HIV forever
Swollen lymph nodes have to be evaulated in 2 ways:
Painfull lymph nodes which indicates infection.
Non painfull swollen lymph nodes: if movable or less than 1 cm, you do not have anything.
Advice: do not let anixiety beat you, sleep enough, eat well, excersize to post your immune system and fight any infection you have.
Remember: HIV is not diagnosed by symptoms. The only diagnostics is Blood test at window period.
HIV now is delt with as chronic disease like diabetes and hopefully with ongoing researches, a cure will be availble soon.

Thank you for the reply. My swollen lymph nodes are at the top on the side of my neck. They are not very pronounced but are more like 2cm and do not hurt at all. I don't know if that indicates anything.
If they are painful, you have an infection
If they are not painful and you can move them, even more than 2 cm, you do not have anytging.
If they are 2 cm and not movable and no pain, go to ENT since it can be lymphoma.
Do not worry about lymphoma.Despite it is cancer, treatment is very successful.

Hiv cannot be diagnosed by symptoms. Only a test can indicate your status. You need to calm down and stop checking for symptoms. At this stage the only right thing to do, is test at 28 days from the day of exposure using a 4th generation / Hiv duo test. For your other symptoms, get in touch with your local doctor and take necessary treatment right away. Do not get into statistics or odds at this stage as it will only add to your anxiety. Just take it one day at a time and stay away from the internet.
