May I kindly have a DEFINITIVE answer about ARS time frame?

Someone tells me ARS can occur between 1 and max 4 week after the potential suspect exposure, while other ones tell it can happen also to 6-7 weeks and later!

I can understand a range of time between 1 and 4 weeks can have a certain tolerance of days as +/- 1,2 days, but a tolerance of 2 or 3 weeks later is big.

Between 4 weeks and 6 weeks there two weeks or 14 days in the middle. It's not a small thing.

Please someone clarify me in UNEQUIVOCAL way the ARS time frame.

Best regards

Hi, ars ideal time frame is 2-4 weeks, but sometimes it can get delayed because of other reasons like someone got exposed and started taking post exposure pills then in that case it can be delayed but it doesn't cross 6 weeks. If you are not taking Pep most ideally more then 95 percent Chances are there that you will get ars if you are infected. But not everybody gets Ars symptoms, studies show almost 90-95 percent gets ars symptoms  but they are so much similar to normal daily life health issues that most of the time it passes away undiagnosed. Few times when someone's immune system is really weak then they might show no symptom at all that means the virus is growing rapidly in their body and their immune system is not fighting back. So the only way someone can be sure of their hiv status is by testing at 3 months mark

This thread is 7 years old.  Also, it isn't wise to focus on symptoms because people misinterpret symptoms and timing.  Almost everyone here states that they are having "ARS symptoms," when in reality none of them are.

The only really relevant part of your post is the last sentence.

Our bodies are not machine people!!!! You cannot measure the whole ARS time frame that way. Everyone is different, some show all the symptoms, some experience some symptoms, and others don't feel any symptom at all.

To tell you "by the book", ARS appear 2-4 weeks post exposure. They will last 1-2 weeks, or even longer in some cases. One of the experts in this forum, Dr. Sean Cummings said that the 3 most common ARS which are likely to appear altogether during the primary stage of infection are: high fever, very sore throat, and rash.
See: http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/180278/HIV-Symptoms

The majority of the newly infected people (70-90%) will indeed show symptoms, and high fever is most likely to be present. So that leaves about 10-30% of newly infected people who won't show any symptom at all. Many people also believe that they are experiencing symptoms, while they're actually not infected at all and the symptoms are most likely due to their anxiety.

That is why symptoms or lack thereof are NEVER reliable. The only way to find out whether or not you're infected is by getting yourself tested 3 months after possible exposure.

Ok Vance2335, but so why some source speaks about rare ARS at 6,7 or even 10 weeks?
How it can be?!?

What does that "rare" mean?10%?5?1?0,5?0,00X%?

Also according to my sources ARS if starts, starts between 1 and 4 weeks max after the suspected exposure,  with an average time frame of 2 weeks.

Logically speaking the curve of the starting of ARS should be a Gaussian curve with the average in the middle of the bell curve,  or to speak simpler, more you go on with the time after the average, less and less the cases of potential ARS should be.
I mean for example among 31 cases of potential ARS, 4 have had the ARS in the first week after the potential exposure, 21 cases have had an ARS in the exact average of 2 weeks time line, 2 in the 3 weeks and 4 isolated cases in the 4th week.
I have a study here with a graphic that told me this and it doesn't consider 5,6 or even 7 weeks as the max limit of ARS.

Said so I don't get why some doctor tells you need to go back to the past 6 months as sexual act.
Why I need to go back 6 months back ( 24 weeks )?
I have never heard an ARS at 24 weeks.

I'm still confused.
