Well Teak,
I have had negative tests at 3,6,9 and almost 12 weeks (81 days post exposure, so 3 days short of 12 weeks). During the 3 months that followed my exposure, I was suicidal at times + under immense stress. I was under stress in my job in addition to this.
Following my last negative result, I have been able to return to a normal life. However, I have constant stomach discomfort for the past 3 months. I started having this about 14 weeks post exposure. My Doc thinks its a stomach ulcer + prescribed triple therapy antibiotics(nexium + 2 other strong antibiotics). I believe I have this ulcer as a result of all the worry and stress I put myself through. However, i think if the discomfort does not go away, I'll have to go for an Endoscopy.
Everything seems to suggest I am fine, but I have just the slightest doubt in my head sometimes. Teak, do you think I am worrying about nothing? and finally, if I go for an endoscopy, would HIV show up in that test on the very off chance it was there??Excuse my ignorance.
I know the doctors all say 6 a negative test 6-8 weeks post exposure generally means one is fine. Respond if u can Teak. I dont want any smart comments from people. Thanks very much.
