I'm glad the mono is better. I had that in high school and it was miserable.

First, I would like to thank your prompt reply!
Your answer made me feel much better. As I said before, I'm not very experienced. During a long time of my life I was alone so only now I'm facing the "real" world..it´s very different from what I heard...sometimes not giving the proper attention...
Mononucleosis was the only disease diagnosed, but now I'm fine.
I will follow your advice and read calmly articles on the site. I had read on other sites, but the information was so divergent and confusing that I was not sure.
Just one last question if you allow me (despite of being repetitive). So, considering the situation which I told - without risk - and the test results, can I consider it definitive, right?
Thank you for your kindness! I have no words to thank you! I was very worried and as I have no one to talk about I was lost on the Internet trying to find answers ....
You had NO RISK for HIV from the oral sex and did not need to test.
You DO have a risk for STD's and should be tested for those.
A month later when you had these tests, mono was the only thing found, is that correct? Mono is not considered an STD, although it can be passed in saliva by kissing (it's called "The Kissing Disease) when it's in the incubation stage, but it is most often spread like the common cold by coughing or sneezing or using the same eating utensils and glasses as someone who is infected.
There are three way you can contract HIV:
1) UNPROTECTED INSERTIVE VAGINAL/ANAL SEX WITH HIV+ PARTNER
2) SHARING DRUG WORKS (NEEDLES) WITH AN HIV+ PERSON
3) HIV+ WOMAN TO HER UNBORN CHILD
There is ONE way to avoid contracting HIV:
1) ALWAYS USE A CONDOM
There is no need to avoid sex.......you just need to avoid "risky" sex and those risks are listed above.
Please spend time reading the HIV Prevention Forum to help educate yourself about HIV. Knowledge is power.
You're going to be fine.
