Pep, post pep testing, and worry

So, I have posted a fiew times in some forums but just find it comforting to reach out and talk to people. So I was on a month of pep after a scary and high risk situation. I started pep about 46 hours after. I would have started spooner but I was slipped something and it is still very unclear to me. Im not sure exactly what happened other than the fact that I am truly at a loss for words with people.

So in between my last dose of pep and now I have had a number of tests mostly antibody icma/elsia from labcorp a few rapids, and one rna pcr 2 some weeks after pep just for a piece of mind. My last test was 110 days post pep so a bit under 4 months post pep and a bit under 5 months post exposure. All my results have been negative, but In your minds giving out assessments can I rest easy? I have found everything a bit hard and my support system when i bring it up is met with discust.

Once again sorry to bother you guys but I don't have anyone to speak with and would really like to... Oh I guess be reassured and find comfort. Also maybe just talk to folks who have been through or understand what I'm going through.

thanks nurse girl. i know it sounds sill but its nice to hear that from a nurse...i know that may sound silly but i find your medical background reassuring, and also just with the anxiety its nice to talk about. i agree with the therapy and all the assault has just wrecked my trust in a lot of things. can i ask you why some places still say six months after pep? sorry i just read some guidelines and well it bothers me. so, i guess i should take comfort and be blessed with my negative results. thank you all for talking to me.

Continuing to test will only fuel your anxiety.  You're conclusively negative.  Focus on your therapy and stop searching about HIV!

thats what people tell me but the six month thing just freaks me out and with the anxiety its hard. i have been seeing a counselor. i even went and had another test ran. a rapid at 126 day to make it a solid 4 months. my anxiety is rough and i am glad everything has been good and clear. its just been hard and my support system has been a little crappy...well really crappy so thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

hi lizzie so im at about 4 months give or take a week post pep and about 5 months post exposure. i understand the three month mark, so i should be assured with the results?

can i ask you why some places still say six? just wondering the reason. also, have you ever seen anyone test negative at four months go on to test positive.

thanks again for fielding my questions it just helps me to talk it out.

hi lizzie and i dont want to upset you guys as ive seen some people drive you all a bit crazy, but why do you think like the cdc for npep still says out to 6 months? is it just a safety concern for law and what not, or is it a left over recommendation from older tests?

and please understand i am ok with everything its just been a near impossible subject for me to talk to people about. my friends have been a bit disappointing.

your test proves...WITHOUT A DOUBT...that you don't have hiv.

further testing is not needed.
