Hiv from needle stick

I was cleaning small neddles up that had been discarded in the parking lot of my work. I don't know how long the neddles had been there. However, assuming they were infected with HIV. One of them was sticking through the bag they were stored in and it pricked me. I worried to death I've contracted HIV from this incident.

So givenen that it was a freshly used neddle. There is no risk of transmission if stuck deep enough to draw blood?

It was a used uncapped needle from the parking lot. It could have been a few Hours fresh or a day or two old. It just poked me in the arm through a long sleve shirt. Didn't see any visible blood on the needle. However, could have had blood in the bore of the needle.

Were you injected with freshly drawn blood or just pricked by a pin?
