Positive elisa and negative western blot. Can I move on?

In december 2014, a routine wellness check up changed my life. The nurse called me in and said I was Hiv positive. My elisa was 1.14 and cutoff is 1. I was in disbelief as I always stay on top of my status at the HD. Mind you, the multispot hiv 1 and 2 were negative. The obgyn nurse still said I was positive and that I will have to take a western blot and be referred. She told me she is pretty sure its going to be positive.

2 weeks after that day I went to the HD. When I got my results the elisa was postive, supplement IA negative and NAAT negative. Finally went to ID doctor and was sent to lab. Month 2 They performed the same test again, multispot which was negative, rna prc which was negative. The doctor was not satisfied because he wanted western blot. So i had to look for a place that performed that test..

I cannot remember the last time I had sex but the western blot was taken 84 days after the nurse broke the news to me. No bands were detected. The doctor told me i do not need to follow up. No one explained anything to me. Since then i have not been intimate and is afriad to get tested again. Can i move on with my life and accept these results or is there a possibility it may change? Sorry for the long post.

I see it as a misinterpretation if u have a positive elisa, negative supplement test and still was told that you are conclusively hiv positive. That's insane. All she had to say was that i need to confirm with western blot. She knew nothing about multispot and labeled me from the start.

I don't think that it was misinterperted, it was probably a flase positive.

If you have a negative WB then you are negative and it appreas just about every other test you have taken is negative.

These healthcare professionals need to have more education on these labs as it was obviously misinterpreted. I could have harmed myself. No counseling was offered she just asked me if i was ever told bad news and the told me i was positive.. She completely disregarded the other negative tests. I am still traumatized and idk when i will heal from this
