Reread all the replies you have been given and test 3 months post exposure to obtain a conclusive negative test result.
You mentioned on the first post ARS after 2-3 days is not possible, based on that very unlikey. Is that correct?
You last post is actually confussing. I know is lower than male to male and male to female, but we had sex twice and for quite a few minutes
It's lower than male to male and male to female.
I will always use condoms.
Based on what I said you believe the risk is quite low and unlikely?
I just want some piece of mind from someone that knows about this. I am worrying a lot. Thanks.
If you are infected yes you could infect someone else even before you have a positive result.
Until you are in a monogamous relationship and you've both tested negative together.
Definatelly will do.
But I should use condoms always no?
You mentioned "use condoms until you receive your negative test"
Does that imply I could infect someone now?
Just use condoms until you receive your conclusive negative test result.
Thanks again for your comments. If you think the risk is low I can wait until the 3 months (as I am not too keen on testing now)
The only way one will know if they have ARS symptoms is by testing positive and until then they are not called ARS symptoms.
Testing is free in the UK.
Its reassuring to hear from both of you the risk is low. If I am negative I can't explain why both me and the second girl having ARS like symptons.
His exposure was 4 weeks ago.He can test for that exposure.P24 antigen peaks at 4 weeks.
Duo test would be a waste of money since the P24 part of the test is only good from week 1-4.
Many thanks for your reply. I will try to go for a test.
Because it is much harder for a man to aquire the virus from a woman i believe your risk is slim but once again only a test can answer that question for you.If you are from the UK you have some of the best clinics in the world over there.Take advantage of world class testing.
What do you think is my risk?
If you have the DUO and it's negative, think of how much relief that will provide you. It's 99% accurate at 4 weeks.Take the test.
I know I should get tested. I need to get the courage to do it. I can't at the moment, I am very scared. I know symptons are not an indication, but I was really ill after having unprotective sex twice.
You have the option of having a DUO/COMBO test at 4 weeks which is very reliable and is when the p24 antigen is at it's peak. You must follow up at 3 Months for a 100% conclusive result. All the best.
Thank you for your reply. Could ARS-like symptons be caused by herpes or any other STD after only 2-3 days?
ARS if one has it at all comes on 2-4 weeks post exposure and lasts 1-2 weeks. You can obtain your conclusive negative test result 3 months post exposure.
